Our students and 20s are launching a new venture called The Banquet Hall.
What is it?
Starting on Monday 11th February and running for five weeks, The Banquet Hall is a new evangelistic course for students.
Structured around a two-course meal, the course will look at the lives of five Bible characters and how God met them with abundant grace their various forms of pain and darkness, ending with Jesus who is the answer to all brokenness.
Our heart and desire is that the students who come along catch a glimpse of God's love and grace to them wherever they are in their lives and that many would come to know Jesus through the course.
The sessions will be at Elvet Methodist Church on 11th and 25th February and 4th, 11th and 18th March.
How can I get involved?
1) Prayer - we are so aware of our dependence on God, both in terms of the logistics and running of the course (which has proved a learning curve for many of us) and also in terms of the people who come along and the Holy Spirit's work in their hearts. Please pray for the final details of planning to be resolved smoothly, for joy and good teamwork within the leadership team as we follow the Spirit's leading, and for God to be preparing people to come along as we start to publicise the event.
2) Volunteers - we would be very happy to receive practical help in the running of the course. We are looking in particular for help in the kitchen with cooking, serving and washing up on the Monday evenings.
3) Finances - A massive thank you to all those who have given generously already in finances. We have met our target in terms of funding the meals and are hopefully on our way to meeting the target for wider expenses.
