Recently Pete Gray, one of our children and youth work deacons, and Helen Edwards, our youth worker, shared about our growing youth and children's ministry and the need to steward it well.
Wonderfully in the last year we have set up a what we call Project Arrow, named after Psalm 127 (see below).
Project Arrow is an opportunity for people (and those who wouldn't normally see themselves doing traditional youth work) to come alongside young people connected with our church in a discipleship capacity.
We have about 12 young people currently being discipled but there is opportunity for more people to get involved. If you are interested please speak to Dan Lee, Pete Gray and Helen Edwards. We have an event on Saturday 27th February where you can find out more.
“Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labour in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.
Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court.”
