Our first community litter pick

We love working with others to love and improve our local communities.

So we were delighted to join a first Community Litter Pick across Gilesgate, Gilesgate Moor, Carrville and Belmont on Sunday 4th July, 2021.

In total 87 people took part, collecting 65 bags of litter - and the torrential rain held off just long enough, praise God!

It was great to hear of young people spontaneously joining the effort, and McDonalds and KFC staff taking part too.

It’s hoped this will now become a quarterly event. Well done everyone!

Loving our neighbourhoods: Gilesgate Litter Pick

We love to show Jesus’ love through practical serving in our local communities and neighbourhoods.

On Sunday 13th October, we helped run the first Gilesgate Community Lunch and Litter Pick.

We were joined by friends from Durham City Baptist Church, Gilesgate Residents’ Association and local residents.

And despite the rain getting heavier and heavier as the afternoon went on, everyone did a great job! Well done guys!

With thanks to Durham County Council for their advice and loaning us equipment.
