Burn during Thy Kingdom Come

  • 1 Lowes Court DH1 4NR (map)

As you may know, we’re coming up to the days of "Thy Kingdom Come”, a prayer initiative launched in 2016 by Archbishop Justin Welby. As it says in their website….

"Between 25th May and 4th June, communities and churches around the world are gathering together to pray that their friends, families and neighbours come to know Jesus Christ. Prayer events of all shapes and sizes will take place across the 10 days, including 24-7 prayer rooms, prayer days, prayer walks and half nights of prayer. Cathedrals, churches and other venues will host Beacon Events, gathering people across towns and cities to worship and to pray for the empowering of the Holy Spirit for effective witness.”

It’s something that’s stretching out beyond the Anglican church, and stirring the whole body of Christ to seek him.

So we’re really glad to be timing our monthly burn to join in with this call to prayer, and we’ll be worshipping and seeking His face first and then interceding for Durham and wider with the same heart… that the Father would come and visit our land with His mercy and turn our hearts back to Him.

We’re gathering after 7:30pm which is when "48 hours of Prayer” has ended just up the road in Chester-le-Street. If you’d like to join us in a home based setting for an hour... or two... or a few… it would great to have you with us.

And if you want to track Thy Kingdom Come more widely have a look here.
