Durham Money Advice Centre (DMAC) saw over 160 new clients last year, helping them to deal with a total debt of over £1.5 million. 

People who are struggling with debt received a home visit from members of the DMAC team, who look at what immediate action needs to be taken.  They then work with them to plan a budget that will take them step by step to a more secure financial position, free from the fear and anxiety debt brings. 

The need for this support is growing and DMAC are looking for more volunteers to join the team.  
We have some places left on the Community Money Advice training course (which takes place over two Saturdays - 28th February and 7th March), which will allow you to achieve the Generalist Debt Adviser status.  If you are interested please email office@durhamcp.org.uk and jot the dates in your diary.
